So last night it was finally time for WASP to enter Sundsvall Sweden with their 30 years of thunder celebration show, a show wich was divided into three parts. First part with songs old songs from the first four albums, a second part dedicated to The Crimson Idol album, and a third part with new songs and everything in between… or so it was said.
When i first saw the setlist from the show at the tour premiere i was really excited cos it included the songs “Chainsaw charlie”, “The heretic”, “Widowmaker” and “Scream until you like it”. Those songs was only played at the first shows and by the time the tour hit Sweden they were long gong cut out from the setlist, a bit of a dissappointment.
Nevertheless i really liked the show, the band sounded really good (and sure they had some pre-recorded backup vocals etc but who cares!) amd seemed in a good mood.
Other bands that played this night here in Sundsvall at Nordfest was Year Of The Goat wich play melodic satanic pop-metal in the same vain as Ghost and The Devils Blood, it was my first time seeing them but since i really like their EPs they put out so far i really like them live also even though they didn’t quite look the was i expected them to.
Second band on the bill beside WASP we watched was Necrophobic, and they play classic swedish death metal. Now i just managed to see about 3 songs with them since i wanted to get a good position at the WASP show, but from the little i saw it sounded and looked really good.
Here (and the one above) is a few photos i took from the show:

So the weekend is over and the House of Metal Festival 2012 in Umeå Sweden have passed. My reflections of the weekend is that it was a really good festival, not that many bands that i wanted to see, but still like 6 bands over two days wich is perfect because you have time to take a beer and just relax between shows. On friday both of my main priority bands played, Tiamat wich was by far the best bands on the festival, they did a really good gig, and since this was my second time seeing them i was extra excited. First time i saw them was 2009 and outdoors in broad daylight, so i must say their music fitted more in at an indoor and dark enviroment. Amon Amarth was second out on friday, they also did a good show, first time i saw em and hopefully not the last. At the end of the show LG from Entombed joined them on stage to do vocals for the song “Guardians of Asgaard” wich was a pleasant surprise. See videoclip below.
On saturday there were a few more bands to check out, In Solitude wich was my second time i saw, was as good as last time, just amazing. The Kristet Utseende, Hail of Bullets, Immortal (wich i just saw the first three songs because i had to leave for the In Solitude gig) and Entombed wich also did a relly good job even though i don’t liten too much to their new albums i still enjoy to hear the old tunes. Overall a really nice festival wich i did visit for the second time, and i sure hope there will be more visits from me on this festival.
My top-3 concerts on House of Metal 2012
2. In Solitude
3. Amon Amarth
