I wrote about Enforcer‘s second full lenght album “Diamonds” a couple of days ago so i thought that as this band is as good, i will go thru their complete discography. If you wanna read about “Diamonds” and all pressings of that album just click here. I will also put up all their Ep’s in a later blog post.
“Into the Night” is the bands debut album and released on a small recordlabel called Heavy Artillery, the band later got signed to Earache. Comparing this album with “Diamonds” you have a much more raw sound to this record and the songs are alot faster and not so varied. I am kind of a purist when it comes to heavy metal, i want it old school, not too much new influences and stuff, just plain old 80-style heavy metal and that is exactly what i get when i put on Enforcer, and especially “Into the Night”. I LOVE it!
Listening to the sound it reminds me alot of old Iron Maiden’s early sound with DiAnno, just listen to the bass-lines of “Black angel”, it’s just sound as Steve Harris did back than, a very raw and punkish style but with it’s own identity and style, and i would say that if you don’t like this you just simply can’t be into heavy metal.
My personal favourites on the album are “Black angel” (see video below), “Mistress from hell”, “On the loose” and the instrumental track “City lights”. As always favourites varies from time to time depending on mood and so on, but these are track i would recommend someone who have not heard the album before to check out.
The album was released as following pressings

Purple vinyl (first press limited to 100 copies)
