Title: City Baby’s Revenge
Label: Vap Records
A couple of years after the band released it’s first fullenght it was time for the boys to release another album, this time it’s more well produced, more well played, well it’s more of everything i think. Of all of GBH‘s releases this is and always have been my favourite and i still get as excited now as i did when i was 16 and first hear the album. It’s just impossible not to like songs such as “Diplomatic immunity”, “Drugs party in 526” and “Christianized cannibals” if you are into good music! The album also features a really cool cover of The Stooges song “I Feel Alright”.
Musically and lyrically the band have turned it up a few notch since the debutalbum and it’s fair to say that the band here have found their sound, a sound they have stayed true to ever since. Sure they had a similar sound on the debut also, but that was more raw and unpolished. Unfortunatly i would say the band lost it a little after this record and the albums to come never was as good and fun to listen to as their “City Baby…” records, sure they still made a few songs here and there that sounded just like the GBH i liked but that is about it.
This is the complete Japan release with OBI and a four sided insert with lyrics and hard cardboard cover. I have always been a sucker for Japaneese releases because i think they look so good, and they are often packed with that little extra.
Side A: Diplomatic immunity, Drugs party in 526, See the man run, Vietnamese blues, Womb with a view, The forbidden zone, Valley of death
Side B: City baby’s revenge, Pins and needles, Christianized cannibals, Faster and faster, High octane fuel, I feel alright, Skanga (Herby weed)

Title: City Baby Attacked By Rats
GBH (wich stands for Grievous Bodily Harm) is as classic as classic English streetpunk ever can be and their raw fast sound have been appriciated by both punks and metalheads, and when you heard the band it’s not hard to figure out why. The band was formed back in 1978 and released some demos and singles before their debut album “City baby attacked by rats” saw the light of day in 1982. The sound of this album is still pretty raw but they got the melodies and definitely the looks!
About the music i can just say that if you like fast and raw, you better check out GBH if you still havent, it can be described as a mixture of Discharge and Motorhead to say the least. The bands lyrics are offcourse alot about politics, and mostly about England and Europe, but what differs GBH from most of the punkbands of that era is that they mixed it up with alot of humor and very clever lyrics. This album i think everyone should check out even if punk is not your first choice of music, i think you will get a kick out of it anyways, and also check out the record they released after this one… more about that one in a later post.
What you see here is the Japan release of the vinyl, released on Vap Records, unfortunately my copy don’t have the OBI strip. But still it is a very nice release, heavy cardboard cover and a four sheet inlay with lyrics and some text in japaneese.
Side A: Time bomb, Sick boy, Wardogs, Slut, Maniac, Gunned down, I am the hunted
Side B: City baby attacked by rats, The prayer of a realist, Passenger on the menu, Heavy discipline, Boston babies, Bellend bop

I have been listening to the song a couple of times now, and it sure as hell sounds like the Ministry we all know and love! Can’t wait for the album wich is due out sometime in March/April 2012.
Listen to it on Spotify here, or listen to it on YouTube below
I think it’s fair to say that Paradise Lost is by far one of my favourite bands, sure i have alot of favourites, but it’s always something special when this band is about to release new albums. I just can’t get enough of these miserable bastards!
The bands “Draconian Times” are one of the best albums ever made if you ask me, and now the band are in The Chapel Studio in London, England to record the bands 13th studio album. A album titled “Tragic Idol”, a title i think fit the band sooo much.
The album will be released through Century Media on April 23 here in Europe and April 24 in North America all according to the bands homepage.
What do you think of the new album? I hope, and think it will be another amazing release by Paradise Lost.
One of my favourite thrash metal bands,Kreator, are now rehersing for the recordings of the new album wich they will begin recording in Fascination Street Studio in Örebro, Sweden. The band will begin recording in January and i can’t wait for this album to be released, Kreator’s two past releases have been beyond phenomenal!
I personally think that Kreator is the ONLY of the early, classic thrash metal bands that still release high quality stuff. And i wonder how the album will turn out. In a interview Mille (vocals) have said this about the album demos “There’s some classical, a lot of traditional metal, and, of course, a huge dose of thrash metal influences in the new stuff.”
That sound good to me!
